Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey announced Tuesday afternoon via social media on it will be competing in the 2027 Friendship Four at SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
“We’re headed 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓…After winning the 2022 Belpot, the Bobcats will be participating in the 2027 Friendship Four!” Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey wrote on X.
Quinnipiac previously traveled to Belfast in 2022, capturing the Belpot Bell for the first time in program history, with a shootout win over the University of Massachusetts
The Bobcats will travel to Belfast alongside University of Wisconsin, University of North Dakota and Northeastern University.
Quinnipiac faced off against North Dakota in the finals of the NCAA Tournament in 2016, ultimately falling to the Fighting Hawks 5-1.
The Bobcats hold a 6-2-3 record against Northeastern, most recently suffering a 5-1 loss in Hamden to the Huskies on Jan. 4.
Quinnipiac has only competed against Wisconsin three times in program history, beating the Badgers 3-2 on March 29, 2024, in overtime.
Game matchups and times will be announced for the tournament at a later date.
