After a historic regular season, three Quinnipiac women’s basketball players — freshman point guard Gal Raviv, sophomore center Anna Foley and senior guard Jackie Grisdale — and head coach Tricia Fabbri were honored with MAAC awards.
Gal Raviv
A unanimous selection for All-MAAC first team, Raviv paved the way for the Bobcats with two awards. The first-year guard picked up both MAAC Player of the Year and MAAC Rookie of the Year
“She’s an unbelievably skilled player,” Fabbri said on Nov. 16. “She has such a drive and a desire to become so great. Her skillset, acumen with the ball, IQ, toughness and running the team, she’s really the total package.”
The total package might be an understatement as Raviv averaged 18 points, 4.3 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game during her first campaign as a Bobcats. Her ability to drive to the rim along with a smooth jumpshot left defenses scrambling all year long.
The Kadima, Israel native started all 29 games and dropped a career-high 32 points twice this season — first on Feb. 1 against Siena and on Feb. 27 against Saint Peter’s.
Raviv is Quinnipiac’s first MAAC Rookie of the Year since Aryn McClure ‘19 after the 2015-16 season and the first Player of the Year since Mackenzie Dewees ‘23 in 2020-21. The freshman guard is the first player in program history to win both of the awards.
Anna Foley
Foley earned an All-MAAC Second Team selection during her sophomore campaign. The Andover, Massachusetts native was No. 3 on the team in points per game with 11.
Foley improved on her efficiency from last season, her field goal percentage went from 43.2% to 46.1%, a substantial jump. The sophomore center’s shooting from beyond the arc improved drastically, going from 15.2% during her freshman campaign to a respectable 33.3%.
The sophomore was named MAAC player of the week back on Nov. 25 for her efforts against Cornell and Maine. The sophomore center had 14 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals against Cornell and recorded 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists against Maine.
Jackie Grisdale
Grisdale earned an All-MAAC Third Team honor with her outstanding shooting from downtown. A three-point specialist, Grisdale knocked down 39.1% of her threes this year.
“She’s built up so much trust with us,” Fabbri said on Feb. 22. “We want her taking every open look, and she knows that.”
The senior guard set the tone early in the season after missing most of the 2023-24 season with a lower-body injury. During the second game of the year against Harvard, the team captain scored a career-high 33 points with seven made threes.
Tricia Fabbri
Fabbri, for the fifth time as head coach of Quinnipiac, has been named the MAAC Coach of the Year. The winningest coach in Quinnipiac women’s basketball history, Fabbri recorded her 13th season of more than 20 wins this season as she aims to return to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2019.
All four have played or coached at some of the highest levels in the MAAC this year. Quinnipiac will need each of these contributors at full speed ahead as the No. 2 seed Bobcats look to claw their way to another MAAC championship.
