Quinnipiac’s volleyball team lost in three straight sets to Central Connecticut State on Saturday at Detrick Gym in New Britain.
The loss brings the Bobcats to a 5-17 record and 3-5 in the NEC. The Blue Devils improved to 6-14 on the year and tied QU in the NEC at 3-5.
Kelby Carey and Olivia Grattan both had seven kills in the match. Kayla Lawler continued a strong season with 26 more assists and seven digs. Stephanie Biediger added in eight digs of her own.
Lawler remains one of the best in the nation in service aces. As of last week, the junior’s 41 aces ranked 12th in the nation. She averages 0.52 service aces this year and added one in the match.
Thanks to her efforts, Quinnipiac is 18th in the nation as a team with 1.77 service aces per set. Lawler is also ranked 148th in the nation with her 9.12 assists per set.
Logan Riker is also a nationally ranked Bobcat. Her 4.23 digs per set puts her at 135th in the country. It also puts QU at 69th in the nation with 16.15 digs per set. She added 15 more digs in the game to improve her statistics.
