Recent graduate killed in motorcycle accident

Patrick Meehan, a 2014 Quinnipiac graduate, was killed in a motorcycle accident Tuesday in his hometown of Allen, Texas, according to the Allen Police Department.

Meehan was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He graduated in May with a degree in film, video and interactive media.

“The university community was saddened to learn of the death Tuesday of Patrick Meehan,” a university spokesperson said in a statement after being informed of the death. “The university expresses its sincere condolences to Patrick’s family and friends during this time.”

A witness claimed the 22-year-old was traveling at a high rate of speed when he came into contact with a tree and brick wall, according to Sgt. John Felty of the Allen Police Department.

He was killed instantly after hitting the wall, according to a press release.

The university is offering counseling to students. Interested students can call and schedule an appointment at 203-582-8753, according to the Associate Vice President of Public Relations John Morgan.
