Courtney Kaminiski and the Bobcats held off a second half surge by Wagner to win 66-56 yesterday afternoon at the TD Bank Sports Center. Kaminiski led the way with 20 points and 12 rebounds, her second straight game with a double-double.

Kaminiski and Kathleen Neyens both scored in double figures during the Bobcats’ strong first half, scoring 10 and 11 points respectively. The Bobcats entered the half with a 12 point lead.

“A great first half got us a nice cushion,” Quinnipiac head coach Tricia Fabbri said. “[But] we played really stagnant and hesitant in the second half.”

The Bobcats started the second half off strong, holding Wagner to seven points in the first eight minutes, while pushing the lead to 18. But Wagner chipped away until they cut the lead to three with three and a half minutes to play.

Wagner freshman Marie-Laurence Archambualt scored 13 of her career-high 24 points during Wagner’s second half run. But the Bobcats’ free throws in the final minutes kept the lead just out of reach and pushed it to the final 10-point spread.

Lisa Lebak returned for Quinnipiac after missing the game against Mount St. Mary’s with an injury, contributing 10 points and tying her career high with seven assists.

With the win, the Bobcats improve to 7-7 and 2-1 in Northeast Conference play. The Bobcats conclude their three-game homestand on Monday when they take on Fairleigh Dickinson.
