Albert Schweitzer collections going digital

Quinnipiac has received a $13,410 grant to preserve documents from the Albert Schweitzer Institute in its digital archives. These collections will now be available publicly to aid students, scholars and professors in their research. The grant was awarded to the university by the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation in February. The majority of the money will be used to fund research by two consultants from LYRASIS, a non-profit organization that serves libraries and information professionals by providing international collaborations and networking opportunities. The consultants will assess the Schweitzer collection and translate any documents that were originally written in German. This process will provide a better understanding of the collection, as well as open these documents to the academic community.
