After 90 minutes of scoreless soccer, Danny Ankrah and the Loyola Greyhounds had the Bobcats beat. Unfortunately for Ankrah, the goal post had other ideas.

After the Greyhound forward scorched a ball through the Bobcat defense and past the outstretched hands of goalie Freddy Hall, the shot was met with a resounding ting off of the left post, leaving the two teams deadlocked at zero.

It remained that way until the end of the second overtime, giving the Bobcats a 0-0 tie against the nationally ranked Loyola Greyhounds in their home opener. Hall snagged six saves in the tie, while Greyhound keeper Kyle Wittman turned away all three shots he faced.

Midfielder Fabricio Silva was carried off the field in the second half after being knocked to the ground. Silva grimaced while holding his right knee until his teammates helped him off the field. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, Silva was not the only casualty. Freshman Philip Suprise, the high school Gatorade/ESPN Player of the Year runner-up in 2008, was also helped off the field after a head injury. Suprise had five shot attempts in the game before the injury.

The scoreless affair against Loyola was the second tie of the season for Quinnipiac. They faced Yale on Saturday, and forward Dwayne Mars scored the lone goal for the Bobcats.
