Men’s basketball trounces Bryant, 84-59 [Slideshow]

The Bobcats men’s basketball team played Bryant University for the second time in as many games on Thursday night, and just as they did last Saturday, Quinnipiac beat the Bulldogs handily.

The Bobcats won 84-59 and were paced by balanced scoring from James Feldeine (18 points) , Deontay Twyman (16) and Jeremy Baker (15).

The Bobcats took a one-point lead on a James Johnson jumper with 13:59 to play in the first half, a lead that Quinnipiac would never relinquish.  The sophomore point guard had a solid all around game, compiling nine points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Quinnipiac’s lead ballooned to as large as 26 in the second half, with the Bobcats dominating all facets of play.  Quinnipiac shot 42.9 percent from the field, but cleaned up on the offensive glass.  They collected 18 offensive rebounds, which contributed to 17 second chance points.

The win moves Quinnipiac to 12-6 overall and 6-1 in the Northeast Conference, keeping them tied with Robert Morris for the top spot in the conference. The Bobcats return to action on Sunday when they take on Central Connecticut State at noon at the TD Bank Sports Center.
