Former Quinnipiac softball head coach Hillary Smith will be the next head coach of Dartmouth softball, per D1Softball on X.
Smith had a rocky tenure in blue and gold, boasting a 122-229 record in eight seasons in the Quinnipiac dugout. In 2026, she recorded a program best 16 regular season wins, won three consecutive postseason games for the first time in program history and finished with a 24-21 record, which marks the Bobcats’ first winning season since 2012.
Prior to Quinnipiac, Smith spent a pair of seasons as assistant coach at Florida International University and four seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Central Florida. While on the staff at UCF, Smith won back-to-back Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2014 and 2015, as well as back to back regular season championships, winning the conference tournament in 2015.
Quinnipiac will search for its ninth head coach in program history.
