    Honkey Dorey is Born

Honkey Dorey was formed in the winter of 1999. It started when punk enthusiast Matt got a drum set for Christmas. He didn’t know how to play the drums, but he and my brother Kevin had talked about being in a rock band for several years.
The first attempt was to ask long time friend, Andy, to come to one of the practices. He did, and after his first appearance, never returned. Maybe they were just that bad, or maybe he just couldn’t hack it. No, they were that bad.
Matty and Kev were back to decision making. They had this song that they were working on and had lyrics for it, but they had no one to sing it. This is the song that everybody knows as the “Original, Original.” After much prompting, the guys convinced me to go downstairs and yell.

It worked and today, as you know, I am the rock star lead vocalist of Honkey Dorey, non other than Adam Bouvier. And Honkey Dorey was born.
Now all that was missing was a bassist. We asked another one of our friends, Johnny, if he wanted to be in our band.
We finally had a band together. So what if I couldn’t sing, Matty just got his sticks, and Johnny didn’t know what a bass looked like? Turns out, that Matty was a natural on the skins, Johnny was a quick learner on the bass, and I still cannot carry a note (but I have the looks). Kevin rocked on guitar from beginning to end.
Now, two years and many recordings later, we are finally going to have a seven song EP. We decided it is going to be rightfully titled, “Long Awaited.” The name is fitting considering that we have been trying to get it released for quite some time.
