Quinnipiac volleyball’s graduate opposite hitter Elena Giacomini announced her commitment to the Italian Serie B1 — the third highest national level in Italy — team Orotig Areasport Peschiera Wednesday morning on her Instagram story.
After two years as a Bobcat, the Italian native is coming back home to continue her volleyball journey.
“I am thrilled to start this journey in Peschiera, where I found a cohesive and dynamic group that welcomed me from the very first moment,” Giacomini shared in the team’s Instagram post. “I see many opportunities for growth, but above all a team that is eager to work. I can’t wait to get started.”
During her time in Hamden, Giacomini recorded 1009 kills, 52 aces, 708 digs, 18 solo blocks and 113 block assists. She was also named the 2024 MAAC Player of the Year.
