The university will be honoring the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising in Ireland. The Easter Rising was a rebellion in the country that led to its independence from the British Empire and transformed the country into what it is today. Ireland’s Great Hunger Institute will be opening a new exhibit next month called “The Seed of the People: 1916 Remembered.” From March 23 through Sept. 30, it will be open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
CORRECTION: This brief is different from the one that originally was published in the print edition of The Chronicle. The brief was corrected to state that it is Ireland’s Great Hunger Institute, not Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum, that is hosting this exhibit.
