Following the grand jury’s decision on Nov. 24 to not indict former police officer Darren Wilson after he fatally shot Michael Brown on Aug. 9, protests broke out in Ferguson, Mo. Students shared their opinions about the grand jury’s decision and the protests that have been happening around the country.
“In this case, the jury didn’t convict him because there wasn’t enough evidence. You can’t convict someone without the proper evidence. [Society] just needs to reform the system so that things like this don’t happen again but [violently] protesting about this isn’t doing anyone any good. Even the parents of [Mike Brown] want everyone to be peaceful so people should take into account what his family wants.” Kael Miller, sophomore
