“My favorite part of the job is the connections that I make with students. Things happen, life happens. Making someone smile is the very least you can get out of it. Take something positive from all experiences.”
Melissa Tardif has been the facilities worker of Irmagarde Tator Hall for the past four years.
Known for leaving kind Post-It notes on the doors, making an effort to know everyone’s names and keeping the floors nearly spotless, Melissa is well-known and loved by residents of Irma and others on campus.
She received her Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2002 and worked as a hygienist up until about four years ago, when she took the job here at Quinnipiac. She says she feels very well taken care of because of the exceptional benefits she receives and the genuine appreciation and affirmation of students she encounters.
In addition, she studies Health Sciences here on campus and will receive her Bachelor’s this May alongside her son, who is also graduating.
“There are many outstanding young adults that I’ve come across that have left an impression on me and I know will go far. I love it, that part. There’s always a handful every year.”
