Sneaker wedges seem to be the newest thing among celebrities and a select few of Quinnipiac Students. The fact that sneaker and wedges are being used in the same sentence is a problem. These shoes look like high top sneakers but with a hidden wedge underneath, secured with a VELCRO strap. Imagine athlete meets 90’s meets astronaut meets the wedges that captivates everything a wedge shouldn’t be. Very gaudy, masculine even; sure to give you a workout when climbing a flight of stairs, though.

Sneakers are supposed to be comfortable and wedges are supposed to glam up your
outfit. There’s no way you can make these shoes look chic with a dress on. What are fashionistas of the future going to say when they look back to the 2010’s and see that girls were wearing sneakers as a fashion statement? It is almost as if designers were so desperate for something new that they took the first two shoes they saw and said “lets make a shoe out of these two shoes.”
Unfortunately, sneaker wedges are here to stay. They’re on the feet of models like Gisele Bündchen, Miranda Kerr, and Joan Smalls. The ridiculous shoes sell for $500 to $750, but are sold out and going for $1500 on eBay.
