It is time for Quinnipiac students to get ready to rock as the Interfaith Council presents its fourth annual benefit concert for the AIDS Research Foundation on Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. in Alumni Hall.
“Every penny from ticket sales goes towards the AIDS Research Foundation,” said Eric Marrapodi, a member of the Interfaith Council and the main planner of the event. “Not only is the money being raised for a worthy cause, but it is a show that you don’t want to miss out on.”
The performing bands include Another Day Wasted, formally known as Kadence, Ace Trouble Shooter and Me Without You.
Ace Trouble Shooter, a group comparable to Blink182 and Sum41 with its rock and punk beat, and Me Without You are both members of the Tooth and Nail record label. Former members of this label include MXPX and Julianna Theory.
Other bands that will be performing at the concert include Lovedrug and Strive, a group similar to the Dashboard Confessionals. This will be Strive’s second show on campus, previously performing during last year’s “Faith Week.”
“The success of last year’s concert helped to build on this year’s concert,” said Marrapodi.
The Interfaith Council will be pairing up with the Albert Schweitzer Institute and Residential Life for this event.
The cost of each ticket is $4 and students can pay with cash or Q-card. Tickets can be purchased from residential assistants but will also be made available at the door.
“It’s going to be one of the greatest rock shows to hit Quinnipiac in years,” said Marrapodi.
