Over the past weekend, the Quinnipiac Bobcats men’s tennis team hosted the Quinnipiac Invitational. Two singles and one doubles team were able to make it to the finals.
Junior Charlie Feldman reached the Flight C Singles Championship, but could not find luck in the third-set tie-breaker, falling to Connecticut’s Scott Warden. Feldman won the first set by a score of 7-5, but lost the second and third set by scores of 4-6 and 3-10, respectively.
Junior John Hughes was able to find success, by defeating Sacred Heart’s Kirill Kasyanov to win the Flight A Singles Championship. It was a back-and-forth match, Kasyanov winning the first set by a score of 7-6. Hughes came back and won the second set with a 7-6 score. In the third-set tie-breaker, Hughes won with a score of 10-3.
Seniors Tom Curran and Joe Nuara advanced to the championship of the Flight B Doubles, where they took on Connecticut’s Dave Adams and Matt Burns. They could not continue their success through the end of the match, losing a heartbreaker by a score of 9-7.
