Lange, who has worked as a nursing professor at Fairfield and Yale, will serve as the dean of the school which will be housed on Quinnipiac’s North Haven campus.

“The facilities at Quinnipiac are state-of-the-art. There’s really a unique set of circumstances here,” Lange said in the release. “We’re going to create a nationally renowned model of interprofessional educational excellence.”

The new school will offer a three-year clinical doctorate program for incoming students beginning this Fall.

“The opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration here are outstanding,” Lange said in the release. “Few nursing schools offer the opportunity for nurses to be educated alongside a full-range of health care professionals.”

Quinnipiac’s School of Health Sciences and School of Education are also located on the North Haven campus, and the School of Medicine expects to welcome its first class there in the fall of 2013.
