A momentous change could be headed to Quinnipiac, and it all depends on the students. The initiative, by students and for students, is known as “How Can You Change QU.”
“Hopefully, projects like ‘How Can You Change QU’ will give students the opportunity to walk into a job interview and exhibit a leadership history that is unique from other peer institutions,” said senior Louis Venturelli, Student Government Association president.
According to Venturelli, the program aims to enhance the quality of student life on campus and create leadership opportunities for students. “How Can You Change QU” is the brainchild of the Presidents and Vice Presidents Committee of SGA.

Sponsored by SGA with assistance from Dean of Students Manuel Carreiro and the Office of Student Affairs, $1,000 grants will be allotted to students with attainable, creative ideas.
“I think it’s great that there is an opportunity for students to get involved without having to be a part of a club,” freshman Jordan Walsh said. “It makes everybody feel more connected within the QU community.”
The Presidents and Vice Presidents Committee will be responsible for reviewing all applications that come through and will then notify the student population of the submissions that were granted funding.
“We are looking to ignite a spark on this campus that values leadership and the principles of vision and action,” Venturelli said. “Every student has a diverse perspective of the campus community and we are looking to celebrate the ideas that will continue to enhance the student experience.
“If all goes well, and dependent on the new leadership of the Student Government Association, I could see this project growing bigger and stronger to perhaps a larger grant fund.”
