Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey is set to travel to Madison, Wis. to face the Franklin Pierce Ravens in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, revealed in Sunday’s tournament selection show on ESPNU.
The Bobcats punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament Saturday night with a 5-1 victory in the ECAC Championship over rival Yale in Lake Placid, N.Y.
Franklin Pierce secured its bid in similar fashion, defeating Saint Anselm’s College in the NEWHA Championship. The team was ranked No. 25 in the NPI at the end of the season, while the Bobcats sit at No. 7.
The Ravens are 0-2 against ECAC opponents this season, losing to the Union Garnet Chargers twice.
Regional host No. 2 University of Wisconsin-Madison awaits the winner of the matchup.
Puck drop is set for Thursday, March 12, at 8 p.m.
