The wait is finally over.

The annual autumn event, Fall Fest, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 beginning at noon. Putting a new spin on things, WQAQ and Student Programming Board (SPB) have decided to move the event from south lot to the quad.

Friday afternoon on their social media accounts, WQAQ 98.1 FM Station Manager Dan Bahl and SPB’s Main Stage Chair Taylor Sniffen made the biggest announcement of all in their latest installment of updates on the event.

Headlining this year’s Fall Fest is country artist Cale Dodds. Rolling Stone named Dodds one of their November 2017 “New Country Artists You Need To Know.” Most recently, Dodds released his singles “I Like Where This is Going” and “What We Gonna Do About It.”

Sharing the stage with Dodds are cover bands The Sulls and Those Guys. Both rock bands are local to New England and perform covers of popular rock, pop and punk songs.

Although some of the artists may be new to Quinnipiac students, that doesn’t mean they aren’t still excited. “I’ve never heard of those artists, but I’m sure it’ll be a fun experience with all the stuff they’re adding” said sophomore finance major Eric Vandermeer.

Along with the artists, WQAQ and SPB will be giving away free fall-themed t-shirts and blankets. Students attending the concert will also have the chance to ride a mechanical pumpkin, make their own candy apple station and enjoy apple cider donuts from Lyman Orchards.

Students are excited to see what SPB and WQAQ accomplish with the new additions this year’s Fall Fest will include.

“I will be going to fall fest. I’m excited to see the activities they are incorporating so it’s not just the performer,” Nicole Pestana, a senior International Business major, said. “I haven’t heard of the performers but I hope it adds to the rest of the experience they are trying to achieve this year with fall fest”

In years past, Fall Fest has featured artists such as Public, AJR, and The Plain White T’s.
