Billy Boyle, a young, Boston police detective is sent to London to work under General Dwight Eisenhower during World War II and investigate a spy in the Allie’s inner circle.

As Boyle begins to investigate the potential spy, he is also assigned to look into an apparent suicide at the base. After investigating this death, Boyle suspects it was the work of the spy.

However, he soon realizes everyone is a suspect, including the Norwegian King. With the help of Piotr Kazimierez, a Polish freedom fighter, and English Second Officer Daphne Seaton, Boyle is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, even if it means endangering himself.

The concept of the book is interesting, however, a running joke of Kazimierez not understanding Boyle’s Boston slang gets annoying during the story. Eventually the plot reaches an exciting climax and sets the groundwork for a promising series of books to come.
