    Battle of the bulge: avoiding the feared fifteen

    The school year is in full swing and students all over campus are getting settled into a routine. Is exercise making it onto their list of things to do? In the few months before college, most people hear about the terrifying “freshman fifteen,” but once they get to school there are many obstacles that stand in the way of maintaining a healthy weight.

    When it comes to the cafeteria, there are only so many options to choose from. “The food gets boring after a while,” said Kristen Romano, a sophomore English major. With only four food stations to choose from and only one of the stations varying from night to night, meals can become pretty repetitive. “I feel like I eat pasta every night,” Romano added.

    Many freshmen aren’t used to more than one option a night for dinner. The trick is not to indulge in every food that looks good to you. “Mix and match the food at the caf
