Two weeks after the expulsion of six students,
Quinnipiac University continues to crack down on students who behave “recklessly.” Over the weekend, the university expelled a student who was arrested on campus and charged with DUI.

Shortly after a Yellowcard concert on campus Friday night, 20-year-old Michael Lloyd, of 100
Sherman Ave. Ext., hit three parked cars in the Hill/Village circle before being stopped by Residential Life and security personnel at approximately 12:30 a.m. Later that night, Lloyd failed a field sobriety test, police said.

“The student charged with driving under the influence on campus on Nov. 12 has been expelled,” Lynn Bushnell, vice president for
public affairs, said in a statement. “The safety and security of our students is always our highest priority, and we simply
will not allow any student to endanger the lives of others by behaving so recklessly.”

Lloyd, a junior psychology major, attempted to escape out of the back entrance of the
university onto Hogan Road, according to Hamden Police.

After being confronted by university officials and a police officer, Lloyd failed a sobriety test and was subsequently arrested by the Hamden Police.

Reached by The Chronicle on Monday, Lloyd would not comment.
