    QU to host 21st annual Leadership Conference

    Students will also be exposed to new ideas for personal growth and intellectual exploration as Quinnpiac will host its 21st annual Leadership Conference on Saturday, Oct. 11.

    Throughout the course of the conference, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end around 4 p.m.in Alumni Hall, students will have the opportunity to listen, learn, and interact with various leaders.

    Group workshops will be formed based on student’s interest of personal leadership. The goal of the conference is to make students more competent and more in control of the decisions that will affect their lives.

    Special guest will be Daniel Caron, who is the founder of Original Play. He will deal with effective strategies that help students improve the quality of future decisions.

    He will attempt to help students in dealing with the idea of losing control over or distraught over unfavorable decisions.

    Two educational block sessions are offered throughout the day. The first will run from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., while the second will run from 2:25 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.

    During each session, students will have the opportunity to select a workshop that addresses one of five leadership practices: Challenging the Process, Inspiring a Shared Vision, Enabling Others to Act, Modeling the Way and Encouraging the Heart.

    The program will be led by Student Affairs professionals and alumni of the leadership groups on campus. The leaders are aimed at helping students make the most of what they are capable of becoming.

    The conference will be free of charge, and will include a complimentary breakfast and lunch. Students must show up ready to listen, learn and grow.

    Students interested in attending the leadership conference can obtain materials to register in Room 214 in the Student Center. Students may also register on-site the morning of the conference.
