Quinnipiac University was ranked no. 33 on the national list of “colleges that deserve a second look” in Washington Post on April 1.
The list was compiled by education writer Jay Mathews and was ranked by how often the schools were mentioned by counselors and teachers in an unofficial survey he had conducted.
Mathews said that Quinnipiac “still has a strong commitment to preparing students for the business world, as well as the health science and communication fields.”
At the top of the list was Elon University in Elon, N.C. Number two was Earlham College in Richmond, Ind., and number three was Clark University in Worcester, Mass.
Mathews referred to the colleges and universities on his list as “the hidden gems, the lesser known jewels, the wallflower colleges that students fall in love with only after they get to know them.”
