    Athlete, volunteer and student leader

Jason Greenwood, a 20-year-old junior from Griswold, CT, is a man of great determination, modesty and drive.

Greenwood attended Griswold High School, where he was involved in various activities. He played soccer all four years and tennis for the last two, serving as team captain for both during his senior year. Also during his senior year, Greenwood was elected Vice President of his class.

Once he became a member of the QU community, Greenwood wasted no time in getting involved on campus. He first found a home with SGA at the end of his sophomore year, where he served what he refers to as a “brief stint” as Sophomore Class V.P. This year he was a Junior Class Representative, and he will return to SGA next year as the newly-elected Senior Class Vice President, repeating the title he held four years prior.

In addition to student government, Greenwood has also been a participant in the soccer intramurals where his team, “Bubbafingas,” won just this past fall. Greenwood is also an active member of CAP (Community Action Project). While with this group, he has worked with Habitat for Humanity and participated in several youth-oriented activities.

For the past three semesters, Greenwood has been a member of the WQAQ staff. He is currently the DJ for a show running from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday nights, featuring all types of rock music.

After gaining experience as a Community Advisor this year in Commons, the Mountainview resident will spend next year as an RA in Dana to further his leadership skills and add to an already impressive college career.

Outside of QU, Greenwood does work study with America Reads, a group located in Hamden that provides him with the opportunity to interact with kindergarten children. He also plans to play for an indoor soccer league in Hamden this spring with some fellow SGA members.

Greenwood, a psychology major with a concentration in Child Development, plans to attend graduate school after his time at Quinnipiac. He plans to spend this coming summer doing research projects to gain experience and is looking at a wide range of graduate school options including Northern Illinois University and Michigan State University.

For the future, Greenwood sees a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology and the possibility of teaching at the university level. With such an impressive resume and an insatiable drive for success, there is no telling what Jason Greenwood could accomplish.
