Yale 3, Bobcats 3

With the Bobcats trailing 2-0 early in the first period, Bobcat coach Rand Pecknold pulled freshman goaltender Dan Clarke and put in veteran Bud Fisher.
Chris Meyers scored in the first to make it a one goal game. In the second period, Spencer Heichman scored on a play that was reviewed. His goal made it a tie game, at 2 apiece. The Bulldogs scored again on a power play later in the period to make it a 3-2 game.
In a back-and-forth third period with many chances for both teams, one goal was scored–and it was for the Bobcats. With 3:04 remaining, Spencer Heichman assisted Greg Holt, who’s shot trickled by the Bulldog goaltender.
Through the rest of the third period, the record crowd of over 4,600 were on their feet, and the Bobcats were not giving up. Time expired, and the game went into overtime.
Many chances were made in overtime, but both teams failed to score. The Bobcats had a short handed breakaway with seconds seconds left in overtime, but were pushed away by a Yale defender from behind. The buzzer sounded, and the game ended at a 3-3 tie.
