Can Britney stay strong?

Britney Spears, also known as “the Princess of Pop,” has started 2009 off with a bang. Her new album, “Circus,” was released over two and a half months ago and has managed to make headlines with its chart-topping, energetic hits. “Circus” is her sixth studio album, which went straight to number one on several charts in the United States and world-wide.

According to, the album took the number one spot in’s Readers’ Poll: Best Albums of 2008. Her song “Circus” is also the number one ringtone on iTunes. Spears is even ranked by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) as the eighth best-selling female artist in the United States with 31 million certified albums.

Even with Spears’ recent success, many speculate whether Spears is ready for a comeback.

“A comeback is not what I wish for Britney…All her essential relationships have been torn apart. She’s been divorced twice, she doesn’t have custody of her kids, she is being pushed back into being a money machine. It’s too soon for her to be a part of a manufactured machine that is pushing her to have to be a success,” Britney’s former manager Johnny Wright said in an interview with OK Magazine.

Many fans and those closest to Spears want her to get her life back on track before re-starting her career again. It is difficult to believe that just one year ago, Spears had a public breakdown that sent her to the hospital and various rehabilitation centers, which then jumpstarted a vigorous custody trial with husband Kevin Federline. Due to the great success of “Circus,” Spears seems more than ready to begin her international tour with a greater sense of confidence. And, fans have been anxiously waiting.

Britney is still a major force in the entertainment world and the music industry. Soon after returning to Los Angeles from her brother’s wedding in Kentwood, La., Spears was back in the studio to rehearse for her tour.

Britney even went public about her New Year’s resolutions to demonstrate just how serious she is about revamping her image. “I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time. And to learn how to be happier, just in general. I have to learn to take things not so seriously,” Spears said to various paparazzo.

Nevertheless, there are still many aspects of Britney’s life that may pose as problems in the future and in the success of her tour beginning March 2009. In recent news, Britney’s father Jamie Spears reportedly fired her choreographer, Andre Fuentes, and tour director Wade Robson after disagreements they had over the tour. In early January, Britney held auditions for a new choreographer-a lot of pressure to make the entertainer look amazing in a few short months. Yet, Jamie King, a choreographer who has previously worked with Madonna, is set to direct the tour now.

Britney’s “Circus” tour begins March 3 in Louisiana. She is hitting almost all the major cities in the United States and beyond. Be sure to check to get the locations and dates.
