Women’s Indoor Track Competes at Dartmouth

Women’s Indoor Track vs Dartmouth

The Quinnipiac women’s indoor track team ran at the Dartmouth Classic in Hanover, N.H., on Saturday in its final tuneup before the NEC Championship this weekend.

Freshman Amanda Faust continued her NEC Rookie of the Year cross country campaign by taking home fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:32. Juniors Martha Santandreu and Kaitlyn Kelly took ninth and 10th with times of 10:51 and 10:53, respectively.

Grace Harvey was the only Bobcat runner to compete in the 60-meter dash. She finished in 8.95 seconds which was good for 18th place.

Quinnipiac had four runners compete in the 800-meter race. Alexandra Seitz led the charge for the Bobcats with a time of 2:27 which gave her ninth place. Hannah Donadio was right behind her at 2:28 for 10th place. Christina DeBellis placed 14th crossing the finish line at 2:32 while Courtney Armstrong finished a second later at 2:33 for 16th place.

Christina Faust highlighted the 1000-meter run for the Bobcats. She completed the race at 3:11, good for 10th place overall.

NEC standout Rebecca White took home fifth place in the one-mile run with a time of 5:08.

The Bobcats also ran in the 4×800-meter relay. The team of Seitz, Jill Humphreys, White and Donadio took home third when they completed the relay in 10:03.

“I thought we ran really well over the weekend,” Quinnipiac head coach Carolyn Martin said. “I’m really happy that we were able to hit some standards that will allow us to run more people at the NEC Championships next weekend. I think we’ll be seeing some season bests at the NEC’s.”

The Bobcats, who took home first in the NEC cross country championships, are predicted to finish seventh in the NEC indoor track championships. They will look to prove the predictions wrong on Feb. 12-13 at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, Md.
