Q: Can non-members sit in on meetings? Can a non-member voice their opinion at a meeting? How can a student get involved?

A: The Student Government Association as a whole, has been working on publicizing our meeting dates and time in efforts to encourage the student body to join us. Someone who isn’t a part of SGA, whether it is a student, faculty member, or administrator, is always welcome at our meetings. This goes not only for the general meetings at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesdays in SC 207, but any committee or cabinet meeting. If you have something you’d like to voice, no matter what it may be, we would be delighted to see you at our meetings.
As far as student involvement, a big way this can happen is by attending the general meetings. Our weekly agendas include a part for Open Forum, where anyone who wishes to can speak. If someone comes to us with a concern, we do our best to solve the problem by looking at the ways it can be changed. This is ultimately what we are here for, and we would love to hear from you at meetings. (answered by Tracy Diamond)
