The QU singers will be holding a Spring Concert on April 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Buckman Theatre.
The concert will feature a mix of music to suit all tastes. A sampling of the songs being performed includes music from the Broadway musicals, “A Chorus Line” and “Man of la Mancha,” James Taylor’s “Shower the People,” and Dell Vikings’ “Come Go with Me.”
Students will also be performing “Here Comes the Sun” as a tribute to Beatle George Harrison, who died earlier this year.
Conductor Fred Rossomando has also included an original composition written by his close friend Lee Walkup, titled “Could It Be.”
Rossomando said he is pleased with the progression of the QU Singers, which he describes as a “mixed bag” of students.
“It has been a pleasure to conduct them and work with them,” he said. “Each of them have been involved vocally before coming to Quinnipiac. They are excellent singers.”
Rossomando has taught music in Wallingford for the past 30 years. He is primarily a pianist with a choral background.
The QU Singers practice Mondays from 6:30pm to 9:20 p.m. in Tator Hall 120. Anyone interested in joining next semester can contact Rossomando at [email protected]
