Faculty and students of Goddard College in Montpelier, VT, are sitting on the edge of the their seats as the Board of Trustees draws up plans to save the school. Negotiations and debates were in progress last week on whether or not a merger with another school would help their college survive.
Massachusetts
Put on your Sunday best on May 12. Not only is it Mother’s Day, but local officials announced that there will be an open house for Bunker Hill Bridge. As the main feature of the $14.6 billion Big Dig project, the bridge is expected to be the talk of Boston residents.
New Jersey
Lou Cambell, A.K.A “Parkway Lou” of Atlantic City, faces a 10-day suspension from his job as toll collector for the Garden State Parkway. Disciplinary charges are being filed against him for participating in a radio contest that promoted women flashing toll collectors on the freeways.

A 5-year-old boy from Long Island, was killed last week after a car struck him. He was watching his aunt and cousin practice their driving when the car lost control and pinned the 5-year-old to a nearby tree. Police commented that neither of the relatives had their driver’s license.
New Hampshire
How about a baseball stadium in Manchester, NH? At a meeting last Monday, representatives from the Lowell, MA Spinners threw out the idea of bringing a new ballpark to New Hampshire. Studies and tests are currently being done to decide if a new baseball park is a reachable goal.
Rhode Island/Connecticut
Timothy Westell, 19, a student at the University of Connecticut died in a car accident last Sunday. He was taken to Day Kimball Hospital after the car he was riding in had hit a pole on the side of Rt. 44. Westell was a from Johnston, RI, active in both sports and his community. Students say he was a great person and friend, and will be missed.
