You’re a sad man, Charlie Sheen

Say what you want about actor Charlie Sheen – whether he’s “winning” or has “tiger blood” running through his veins. Either way, I find him obnoxious. He needs to get off all the news sites I read, and fast.

His father, actor Martin Sheen, has tried to intervene, his publicist has resigned (exhausted from covering up for him, I assume), and people like Mel Gibson have reached out to lend a hand. Of all people, Mel Gibson – really? That’s the best he can do?

As I roamed the streets of Hoboken, N.J. last weekend for St. Patrick’s Day festivities, I heard crowds of drunken people passing through, yelling the now infamous phrases that have recently become a part of our everyday vernacular, bursting from news headlines everywhere.

These people also thought they were invincible with the apparent tiger blood running through their veins, as they screamed “I’m bi-winning!” and the countless other ridiculous Sheenisms.

Sure, the actor’s interview with “20/20” reporter Andrea Canning was entertaining. I’ll admit, I laughed hysterically at parts – Sheen knows how to compel an audience. As the interview continued, I was shocked at some of his statements.

Despite all of Sheen’s past (and current) problems, I still expected the highest paid television actor to appear more composed during the interview.

Clearly, that was asking for too much. Fans may defend him and say that’s just his personality. But I say he needs psychological help.

It’s beyond me how Sheen passed the drug test he took after the interview.

Despite his shocking behavior, public opinion on Sheen still shows he is respected in the acting world. Or, his erratic mannerisms might just amuse us to the extent that his career can only get better from here on out.

On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Kimmel spoke about Sheen’s situation.

“You might think that with all the stories about drugs and porn stars, and God knows what else, his show would suffer. But ‘Two and a Half Men’ was the most watched show on television last night. And it was a rerun, too,” Kimmel joked.

To be honest, I find the entire situation disturbing, especially Sheen’s immaturity, considering his career has hit a downward spiral and he should be working to salvage what little may be left of his reputation.

It was just as unnerving to see how many people seemed amused by his downfall a week later.

More people should realize Sheen’s bizarre behavior is a cry for help. This so-called addiction he claims to have magically cured has taken over completely.

However, this is the culture we live in–we are attracted to gossip and to celebrities who seem to have lost their way. However, it’s only amusing to a certain point. After that, it’s just sad.

During the interview, Sheen said, “I’m proud of what I created – it was radical,” in regards to his drug abuse and addiction. That should have been an indication of his self-destructive behavior.

He seems to have no concern for how foolish he looked on a highly-publicized interview.

Despite the hiatus of “Two and Half Men,” I’m sure his career will be just fine with all the recent press he’s getting.

I just wish he would focus more on getting the help he needs, instead of ensuring the entire world knows just how “bitchin’” he is.

If you’re so desperate to have Sheen removed “from all the news sites [you] read” then why did you just write, and then post a news article about him? Or don’t you read your own news articles?

It’s very sad indeed. Those who “love” him for the actor he is might consider the man apart from his career and that he is nose diving from addiction (rather than attack this post – meaningless)
He is not empowered, he is pathetically vocal and flamboyant about his situation, personal and work life, and his voice is utterly narcissistic. He is a lost man.
The cheering crowd are watching a grown man drown himself – career and possibly life.
Finally, this is what certain media does….they have created voyeurs who can cheer such a man on because they are detached and see the stardom as some freedom. It’s a job. It can be a good one like anything if treated well or it can destroy cruelly, this most notably an aspect of being a successful actor.

as an alumnae of many different treatment programs and well meaning people, i find charlies rants refreshing and not totally without merit. Look, anyone who has ever smoked crack and engaged in risky, debauched sexual behaviour will know what i am talking about. the guy can just order up 20k worth of rock that arrive in a louis vuitton bag and party til the cows come home. Tell me….anyone of us addicted to this shit hasnt dreamed of being able to do the very same thing. As i watch this much loved and extrremely talented guy have this very public meltdown, i find myself wishing that he would just come out and say yeah, i love to smoke crack and have my c$$k sucked, i can afford it and i will continue to pursue the fantasy until i get sick of chasing it. Thats what happens with lots of us. It stops being fun. I think this is what is happening with charlie now. I am on your side, charlie, and i look forward to your triumphant return. You probably dont even know how many people u are helping already. Think what u can do clean.

When I go to the bar this weekend, I’m ordering Charlie Sheen’s Winning Tiger Blood Cocktail.

He clearly said in one of his interviews that when he’s on set, he’s in the zone (I don’t have the direct quote) so I personally don’t see what the big deal is. That’s the kind of guy I want on my team….leaving it all out on the field.

This article would be better if you didn’t hate on him throughout the entire article, joining the media in the onslaught of Charlie Sheen but attempt to rationalize his behavior, perhaps….take the side that not too many take….but I do respect your article.

P.S. Charlie Sheen is indeed “bitchin” (until he goes through his inevitable future health problems then I’ll be on the more cautioned side) but oh wait….did you see that six pack? Charlie wakes up bright and early to work out in his personal gym. You have to respect a guy who has direction.

The guy has an illness. He probably did pass the drug test. Mental illnesses happen when the mind breaks down. After a bit, you’ll see him again, medicated and a completely different person. Sending you well wishes Charlie!

Charlie Sheen is a sick man. His TV interview showed a man in the midst of a manic episode. Pretty soon his moods will be swinging in the other direction. Someone needs to intervene and get this man the help he needs. The best possible outcome is a healthy Charlie Sheen.

After this he should examine his life. Charlie, would you be happy if your children in the future copy your lifestyle? You “love” hookers so much, would you be proud if your daughters where “goddesses” for a Hollywood “WINNER” LIKE YOU? YEAH…I DIDN’T THINK SO…And Charlie, only let in your life people who love you for who you are, not your money, fame, and for what they can get out of you…you’re the only one who can take charge of your life! So, MOVE YOUR ASS! BE STRONG! HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH!GET HELP! GET YOUR DIGNITY BACK!Love you! Wish you the best!Legally, family and “real” friends can’t make him go to rehab…Hey Martin Sheen, DAD; how about slipping 1 or 2 sleeping pills in his ‘tiger-blood” drink; get him in your car to a undisclosed place for at least 6 months, hire a team of doctors; & round o’clock ‘big’ strong male nurses, get him clean…I bet he won’t press charges when he comes back to his senses; just show him all the news & WINNING videos as part of his treatment!! he’ll thank you for ever! Desperate times calls for desperate measures! Your sons life is on the line! (I did something like this to one of my younger brothers some time back/first 2 months he really hated me!)

His drug tests are clean. He is not using. He is manic. His mania may have been triggered by his prior drug use, but a manic person is just as sped up as someone on cocaine except there are no drugs in their system. I am bipolar and have been manic before…it’s tripping without drugs. I recognize the symptoms in Sheen. He is not taking any drugs right now because he feels high without them. When he crashes he will surely turn to his old remedies.

I love Charlie Sheen and I will not watch the show ever, If they get a replacement. But I will have to visit time to time to see what commercials they will be airing at that time slot.
And protest against them! I will get my generation to protest any products they will be airing in that time slot. This is like the gentle men said earlier. It’s like big government bullying us around. It’s time to attack CBS for that. Protest and not buy any products that are shown in CBS if they decide to get a replacement for him. Winning!!

Charlie ‘s the Man. He was making those big wigs lot’s and lot’s of $$$. Well… Now they screwed up. And no one will watch CBS two and have men. No matter who they bring.
Just to show. Big corporate or Big Gov can’t always win.
They are loosing big time. It’s like Charlie vs. big government. Charlie is winning this.
    Go Charlie.

I’ll second citizen florida’s opinion, but also point out that severe withdrawal also can trigger manic episodes like the one we are seeing.

At any rate, yeah it’s very sad, disturbing even, to watch Charlie Sheen on his current downward spiral.

What a shame he is breaking down in front of the whole world, Its like Brittney Spears 100 times worse.
As far as the clean drug test, their are lots of people out their that need to have a clean drug test as does Charlie, a lot of them choose to use synthetic drugs that are not detected or illegal & cause sychotic episodes such as Sheen has been showing,
    Read up on:
synthetic Coke (charge) and synthetic weed (K-2)
this would be my best guess at whats going on with him.
